Jim Bain is the owner of Bain Business Sales and has been appraising and brokering businesses in Houston, Texas for twenty five years. As former Vice President and Operations Officer of a 35 year old business brokerage firm in Houston, Texas, Mr. Bain trained and supervised a ten-broker staff handling the sale of manufacturing, service, retail and wholesale businesses priced between $50,000 and $5,000,000.

Mr. Bain has performed hundreds of business evaluations and has served as an expert witness in courts in Texas to establish the fair market value of businesses.

Mr. Bain was a national marketing consultant for I.C.E.D. (Kwik Kopy Printing International).

He is a past marketing consultant for Texaco, Inc.  He is the author of two published books on the subject of Business Sales.

He is Past President of the Texas Association of Business Brokers (TABB), Houston chapter; and Past State Vice President of Education, TABB.

Mr. Bain was awarded Certificate No. 5 of the “Board Certified Broker” (“BCB” Professional Designation) by the Texas Association of Business Brokers. He earned an MBA degree in finance, management and marketing from Sam Houston State University in 1971.

He is also a “Senior Business Analyst”, and a Texas “licensed Real Estate Broker”. Mr. Bain was awarded the “Life member Award” for the Texas Association of Business and Chambers of Commerce.

He has lectured on Business Brokerage topics and served as a guest speaker at the University of Houston and Rice University, as well as at numerous business, civic and professional organizations throughout Texas. His speaking presentations include:
